    The American TESOL In class Certificate Program (ATIIC) is a 120-hour training program providing a foundation in the theory and practice of English language teaching. The certificate program provides a summary of the core knowledge of the field to support individuals in enhancing their professional practice and careers in serving the needs of English language learners (ELLs).

    Who Should Attend?

    The program is designed for current or prospective teachers or administrators worldwide with who have little to no formal training in ELT. Participants can focus on teaching adults, in ESL and/or EFL environments, or on teaching young learners, in EFL environments.

    Program Requirements

    To earn the TESOL Core Certificate, participants must successfully complete

    • one 45 -hour (5-week) in class course of TESOL
    • one 45 -hour (2-week) to write the essay
    • one 30 -hour  requirement to do the homework and observe the teachers to teach in real class.

    Time Commitment

    The 120 hours of required course work and professional development components can be   completed in 2 months.

    Grading and Assessment

    The American TESOL In class Certificate Program (ATIIC), as well as the online courses that make up the core of the program, are organized on a pass (satisfactory completion of all requirements)/no pass (unsatisfactory) basis.

    Participants who have earned the American TESOL In class Certificate Program (ATIIC) may apply for an additional distinction, the DIPLOMA TESOL COURSE

Examples English required in business situations, for academic purposes, or in the tourism industry. Some TESOL training courses contain ESP courses.

    Some TESOL training courses also offer courses relating specifically to teaching English to children of seventeen years or under.



    Yes, ATI graduates can teach inside the private sector of the United States. Each state in the Union has different requirements regarding teaching ESL inside the public sector. Other qualifications such as Bachelors or Masters degrees, and specific requirements for teaching in a particular state, will be the final determining factor for employment inside the public sector of the United States.     American TESOL Certification and job placement  DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY OWN TRANSPORTATION? 

    Most overseas teaching jobs are done on a contract basis that may or may not include airfare. Mainly, you pay for a plane ticket to your destination country, and are reimbursed with round trip airfare.


    American TESOL Certification and job placement DO I SIGN A TEACHING CONTRACT?

    Yes, usually a three month to two year contract, although there are many other options available such as free lance tutoring, translation services, and online instruction. It is always important to carefully study a teaching contract and make sure all the key points are outlined such as accommodations, airfare reimbursement, expected teaching hours per week, medical insurance, and holidays allotted.



    If you have already signed a teaching contract before you arrive at your destination country, the school or University will usually pick you up from the airport for a visit to the school, and then bring you to your accommodations.
